Regular printer paper works well for crayons and colored pencils. If your child uses markers, place a spare sheet underneath to help protect your table. Heavier paper is another option if your printer supports it.

Christmas Activities to Try with These Pages

Let Everyone Pick Their Own Greeting

Set out a small selection at a holiday gathering and let children choose the words they like best. One might reach for “Ho Ho Ho,” while another goes straight for the puppy and kitten. Put a few cups of crayons in the middle of the table so everyone can share, and keep extra pages nearby for anyone who wants another turn.

Make a Christmas Greeting for Someone Special

A finished “Merry Christmas” or “Happy Holidays” page makes a sweet addition to a gift for a grandparent, neighbor, or teacher. Your child can write a short message on the back or tuck a separate note into the envelope. Let them choose the picture and colors for the person receiving it that’s what makes it personal.

Create a Holiday Word Display

Bring the finished pages together on a classroom board or a wall at home. Mix “Joy,” “Peace on Earth,” and “Merry and Bright” with the other greetings for a cheerful Christmas display. Children who are learning to read can look for familiar words, while everyone gets to enjoy the different ways their friends colored the same season.

Color the Words and Pictures Differently

The lettering is part of the fun. Your child could alternate red and green letters, choose a different color for every letter, or leave the words white and color the scene below. Print a favorite again if they want to try another idea. There’s no need for the two versions to match.

Pair a Page with a Christmas Story

The carol-singing woodland friends, Santa’s sleigh, and gingerbread house all offer a starting point for a little storytelling. Ask where the characters are going or what might happen next. If you’re reading a Christmas book together, let your child choose a coloring page that reminds them of a favorite part.

Keep a Few Pages Ready for the School Break

A folder of favorite printables and a small box of crayons can be handy during visits with family or quiet afternoons at home. Let your child choose a few pages now and come back for different greetings another day. You don’t need a big activity plan to make a little time for coloring.

Yes. Print copies for your own classroom or homeschool activities, and keep the website attribution visible. If another teacher or parent would like the pages, please share the link to this collection instead of distributing the PDF files.

Only if you want to! Traditional Christmas colors are lovely, but bright blues, purples, pinks, and yellows can be just as fun. Your child can choose a color scheme for the greeting, the picture, or both.

Can we use the finished pages as Christmas gifts?

Yes. Your child can give their finished artwork to family, friends, or teachers as a personal gift. Keep the whole picture as a greeting sheet, or tuck it into a large envelope with a note.
